The Northside Eagles's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They were dealt a 70-32 defeat at the hands of Thomas County Central. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Northside has scored all season.
Northside struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
Thomas County Central found their leader in underclassman Colby Mullinax, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and ten rebounds. Mullinax continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Charlie Dunbar IV was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with seven rebounds.
Northside has not been sharp recently as the team has lost 12 of their last 14 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-18 record this season. As for Thomas County Central, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-13.
Northside will take on Veterans at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Veterans knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past ten games -- so hopefully Northside likes a good challenge. As for Thomas County Central, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Houston County at 4:30 p.m. on February 10th. Averaging 61.78 points so far this season, Houston County's high-powered offense has been in full-swing lately, so Thomas County Central better be ready for a challenge.
