Basketball Recap: Gem State Adventist Academy Takes a Loss

Gem State Adventist Academy lost against North Star back in February of 2022 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Gem State Adventist Academy Jaguars took a blow against the North Star Huskies, falling 70-37.

Gem State Adventist Academy's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Seth Davis, who posted nine points. Those nine points gave Davis a new career-high. Tyler Grimaldo was another key player, putting up nine points.

North Star found their leader in sophomore Logan Ellis, who went 7 for 11 en route to 17 points in addition to five rebounds and four steals. Those 17 points set a new season-high mark for Ellis. The team also got some help courtesy of Parker Sparkman, who went 6 of 7 on his way to 15 points and six boards.

Gem State Adventist Academy dropped their record down to 1-8 with the defeat, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season. As for North Star, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-6.

Gem State Adventist Academy has already played their next game (against Victory Charter), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. North Star will look to defend their home court on Friday against Notus at 7:30 p.m. Notus has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 193 points over their last three matches.
