Barrington is 8-0 against the Vikings since December of 2016, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Barrington Eagles will head out on the road to face off against the Rogers Vikings at 7:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Barrington has 11 straight victories, the Vikings have 12 straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Last Wednesday, Barrington faced the Skippers in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Barrington skirted past the Skippers 48-45.
Janaya Prince - baquero was her usual excellent self, almost dropping a double-double on 18 points and nine rebounds. She has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last 13 times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Isys Dunphy, who almost dropped a double-double on 14 points and nine rebounds.
Meanwhile, Rogers was beaten by the Chieftains 55-23 on Friday. While losing is never fun, Rogers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Rhode Island basketball rankings (they are ranked 48th, while the Chieftains are ranked tenth).
Barrington's victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-5. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.8 points per game. As for Rogers, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-16.
Everything came up roses for Barrington against the Vikings in their previous matchup back in December of 2023 as the squad secured a 56-28 win. With Barrington ahead 29-7 at the half, the match was all but over already.
