Bay Port has gone 9-1 against Manitowoc Lincoln recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Saturday. The Pirates will host the Ships at 11:00 a.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Bay Port 3.8, Manitowoc Lincoln 2.1) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Bay Port took a loss when they played away from home on Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They came out on top against Green Bay Preble by a score of 7-4. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Pirates as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Quinn Boeckman looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (five).
At the plate, Bay Port let Gavin Brady and Tommy Berg run wild. Brady went 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI, while Berg went 1-for-2 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. Those two hits gave Brady a new career-high. Beau Jensen also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.
Meanwhile, Manitowoc Lincoln came tearing into Friday's game with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They were the clear victors by a 14-4 margin over the Panthers. The Ships might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matches by nine runs or more this season.
Cade Grapentine and Nick Braun did most of the damage at the plate: Grapentine went 2-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double, while Braun got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two runs and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Kameron Braun, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and one double.
Manitowoc Lincoln pushed their record up to 15-1 with the victory, which was their ninth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.9 runs over those games. As for Bay Port, the victory got them back to even at 7-7.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Saturday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Bay Port has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 6.9 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Manitowoc Lincoln struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 7.4 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Bay Port skirted past Manitowoc Lincoln 2-0 when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Do the Pirates have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Ships turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
