Tehachapi had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 19-25, 25-22, 25-18, 25-15.
Addison Smith paced Tehachapi's offense, picking up 16 kills. Smith got some help from Lola Napier and her 18 assists. Morgan Chambers controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.
Several Blades players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Roxanna Ramirez, who had 21 digs and five aces. Ramirez is on a roll when it comes to aces, as she's now served four or more in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaylie Demison, who had 31 digs and two assists.
The victory got Tehachapi back to even at 13-13. As for East Bakersfield, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 13-8-1 record this season.
