The Reed Raiders only won by three when they last took the court, which might have inspired the 37-point they dealt the Carson Senators on Tuesday. Reed simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Senators 72-35 at home. With Reed ahead 46-24 at the half, the match was all but over already.
Reed's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Tj Coulter led the charge by scoring 27 points along with five rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Coulter has scored at least a third of Reed's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Giosue Gaeta, who scored 15 points along with four steals.
Despite the loss, Carson still got an impressive performance from Justin Moore, who scored nine points along with two steals. Another player making a difference was Demarcus Brewster, who scored six points along with two steals.
Reed is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 12 games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-10 record this season. As for Carson, they are on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-18.
Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing Galena the next time they take the court. Carson will head out to face Galena at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, while Reed will host them at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
