Baseball Recap: West Broward Snags Sixth Victory in Last Eight Games

West Broward's game on Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Rock Bridge Bruins by a score of 7-3.

Angel Figueroa and Braden Aguila dominated on the mound. Figueroa pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits, while Aguila didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. Figueroa has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, West Broward let Sergio Garcia and Lenny Sufran run wild. Garcia went 1-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run, while Sufran scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3. That's the most RBI Garcia has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaiah DelValle, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

West Broward has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season. This is the second loss in a row for Rock Bridge and nudges their season record down to 3-2.

Coming up, West Broward will be taking part in a tournament against Poly Prep Country Day at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Rock Bridge, they will face off against Smith-Cotton at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
