The Gering Bulldogs beat the Mercy Monarchs 3-1 on Thursday.
Jacey Cochran paced Gering's offense, picking up 20 kills. Cochran got some help from Aubrey Anderson and her 44 assists. Adriana Canales controlled things from the service line, finishing with five aces.
Mercy's loss came despite strong showings from Marly Mills and Maggie Lindauer. Mills had 22 digs, while Lindauer had 24 digs and one assist. Lindauer is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last six games she's played.
Gering has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 27-8 record this season. As for Mercy, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-17.
Gering has already played their next match, a 3-1 loss against Bennington on the 1st. Mercy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
