Baseball Recap: Chester Beats Perryville for Their Third Straight Victory

Chester waltzed into their matchup on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 7-6 W against the Perryville Pirates. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Yellowjackets also won the last time the pair played back in May of 2023.

Kolton Jany was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. He has become a key player for Chester: the team is 4-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 4-9 otherwise.

Chester's victory bumped their record up to 8-10. As for Perryville, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 8-10.

Coming up, Chester will head out on the road to face off against Zeigler-Royalton at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Perryville, they will host Arcadia Valley at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Tigers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.13 runs per game on average), something the Pirates will no doubt try to take advantage of.
