Olentangy is 0-8 against Dublin Coffman since December of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Olentangy Braves will head out on the road to challenge the Dublin Coffman Shamrocks at 7:30 p.m. Olentangy has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 339 points over their last five matchups.
Dublin Jerome typically has all the answers at home, but on Friday Olentangy proved too difficult a challenge. They strolled past the Celtics with points to spare, taking the game 62-47. Given Olentangy's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked fourth, while Dublin Jerome is ranked 70th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Olentangy relied on the efforts of Whitney Stafford, who scored 18 points along with eight rebounds and two blocks, and Sydney Mobley, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 16 rebounds. Mobley is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Kate Mosher, who scored nine points.
Meanwhile, Dublin Coffman came up short against Upper Arlington on Friday and fell 38-26. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Dublin Coffman has scored all season.
Olentangy pushed their record up to 20-1 with that win, which was their sixth straight on the road. As for Dublin Coffman, they now have a losing record at 10-11.
Things could have been worse for Olentangy, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 62-48 loss to Dublin Coffman when the teams last played back in January of 2023. Can Olentangy avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
