Wingate is 0-10 against Crownpoint since January of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. Having just played yesterday, the Wingate Bears will get right back to it and host the Crownpoint Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on January 17th. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
On Tuesday, Wingate was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 41-35 to Socorro.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 70 points the game before, Crownpoint were a bit more limited in their contest on Saturday. They were dealt a 49-14 defeat at the hands of Bloomfield. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Crownpoint has scored all season.
Wingate has not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season. As for Crownpoint, their loss dropped their record down to 5-5.
Wingate came up short against Crownpoint in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, falling 40-27. Can Wingate avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
