Basketball Recap: Carson Arthalony and Aubrey Vogel Secure Win for PORTA/Ashland-Chandlerville Central

There's no place like home for PORTA/Ashland-Chandlerville Central, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. They came out on top against the Calhoun/Brussels Warriors by a score of 51-39 on Thursday.

PORTA/Ashland-Chandlerville Central was led to victory by Aubrey Vogel and Carson Arthalony. Vogel went 10 of 14 on her way to 22 points and three steals, while Arthalony posted 19 points and six rebounds. Those 22 points gave Vogel a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Cassie Cox, who put up six points and seven rebounds.

PORTA/Ashland-Chandlerville Central smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in three consecutive games.

PORTA/Ashland-Chandlerville Central has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season. As for Calhoun/Brussels, their loss ended a five-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 5-1.

It'll be Battle of the Birds when the PORTA/Ashland-Chandlerville Central Bluejays duke it out with the Carrollton Hawks at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Calhoun/Brussels, they will host Brown County at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
