After only two runs in their last match, Junction City made sure to put some runs up on the board against Claiborne Academy on Friday. The Junction City Dragons were the clear victor by a 14-1 margin over the Claiborne Academy Rebels. The Dragons' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Caden Sims spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on five hits.

On the hitting side, Joe Thompson was a standout: he scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Graden Hanry was another key player, scoring three runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Junction City always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .636. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Junction City now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Claiborne Academy, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Looking ahead, Junction City will head out to square off against Smackover at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Junction City is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.6 runs per game this season.
