The Moshannon Valley Black Knights/Damsels will look to defend their home field on Friday against the West Branch Warriors at 7:00 p.m. Moshannon Valley will be looking to keep their six-game home win streak (dating back to last season) alive.
Last Friday, Moshannon Valley blew past Claysburg-Kimmel, posting a 48-20 win at home. The result was nothing new for Moshannon Valley, who have now won three matches by 27 points or more so far this season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Moshannon Valley to victory, but perhaps none more so than Micah Beish, who picked up 185 receiving yards and five touchdowns. The team also got some help courtesy of Jalen Kurten, who threw for 194 yards and five touchdowns on only 18 passes.
West Branch aren't just finding sucess at home, as their game on Friday extended their overall winning streak to four. They strolled past Glendale with points to spare, taking the game 35-21.
Tyler Biggans continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, throwing for 338 yards and four touchdowns while completing 73.1% of his passes, and also punching in a touchdown on the ground. Biggans is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in the last three games he's played. Nick Stavola was another key contributor, picking up 143 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Their wins bumped Moshannon Valley to 5-3 and West Branch to 4-4.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Friday's matchup: Moshannon Valley has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 219.4 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like West Branch struggles in that department as they've been averaging 161 per game. It's looking like Friday's game might have some serious battles in the trenches.
Moshannon Valley ended up a good deal behind West Branch in their previous meeting back in October of 2022, losing 34-19. Will Moshannon Valley have more luck at home instead of on the road?
