The Antonito Trojans will head out on the road to square off against the Liberty Tree Academy War Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Antonito is no doubt hoping to put an end to a ten-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.
Last Monday, Antonito beat the 35-28. The win was just what Antonito needed coming off of a 56-19 loss in their prior matchup.
Destanaya Quintana was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 19 points and 16 rebounds. Quintana is crushing the rebound category: she's posted at least nine every time she's taken the court this season.
Meanwhile, Liberty Tree Academy's recent rough patch got a bit rougher back in January after their eighth straight defeat. They took a serious blow against James Irwin, falling 41-3.
Antonito's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 1-11. As for Liberty Tree Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 1-9.
Everything came up roses for Antonito against the War Eagles when the teams last played back in February of 2023 as the squad secured a 58-24 win. With Antonito ahead 37-10 at the half, the match was all but over already.
