Jacob Cali looked comfortable as he struck out eight batters over four innings while giving up three earned runs off only one hit. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Fabian Antosanti was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing Two bases. while going 2-for-3. Tyler Pierre was another key player, scoring two runs while going 3-for-5.
Meanwhile, Tavares got themselves on the board against Leesburg on Wednesday, but Leesburg never followed suit. They blew past the Yellow Jackets 15-0. That 15 run margin sets a new team best for the Bulldogs this season.
Kyle Dunn was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. What's more, he posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.
In other batting news, Tavares got a massive performance out of Calvin Hinckley, who scored two runs and stole Three bases. while going 2-for-2. The dominant performance gave Hinckley a new career-high in stolen bases. The team also got some help courtesy of Aiden Tinkey, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with four RBI, one run, and one double.
Tavares hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post two or more strikeouts.
Lake Minneola now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Tavares, their win bumped their record up to 4-6.
