Basketball Recap: Clearview Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Deacon Delgado and Jeffery Ball

Clearview lost against Brookside back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Clearview Clippers lost to the Brookside Cardinals on the road by a 85-70 margin. The Clippers just can't catch a break and have now endured four losses in a row dating back to last season.

Despite the defeat, Clearview had strong showings from Jeffery Ball, who went 7 for 13 on his way to 16 points and seven rebounds, and Deacon Delgado, who went 7 of 12 on his way to 17 points and six rebounds. Those 17 points gave Delgado a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Cy Christensen, who went 5 of 9 on his way to 13 points.

Clearview's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Brookside, with the victory, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 1-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Clearview will square off against Black River at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Clearview is facing Black River at the right time seeing as Black River is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Brookside, they will face off against Columbia at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Columbia will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Brookside surely won't give up without a fight.
