Johnson has been on the road for six straight, but on Monday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Perspectives-IIT/Joslin Wolves at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
In what's become a running theme this season, Johnson gave their fans yet another huge win on Thursday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Bulls College Prep 65-22 on the road. With Johnson ahead 35-10 at the half, the match was all but over already.
Johnson can attribute much of their success to Le'Andra Hill, who dropped a double-double on 26 points and ten rebounds, and Destiny Taylor, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 12 rebounds. That makes it seven consecutive games in which Taylor has scored at least a third of Johnson's points. Another player making a difference was Kaylynn Arnold, who scored five points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, Perspectives-IIT/Joslin was able to grind out a solid victory over Curie on Wednesday, taking the game 54-47. The win made it back-to-back wins for Perspectives-IIT/Joslin.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Perspectives-IIT/Joslin to victory, but perhaps none more so than Leilani Laws, who scored 22 points. That makes it ten consecutive games in which Laws has scored at least a third of Perspectives-IIT/Joslin's points. Victoria Robinson was another key contributor, scoring 17 points.
The win got Johnson back to even at 10-10. As for Perspectives-IIT/Joslin, they pushed their record up to 8-7 with that victory, which was their fourth straight on the road.
Everything came up roses for Johnson against Perspectives-IIT/Joslin in their previous meeting back in December of 2023 as the squad secured a 64-35 victory. With Johnson ahead 47-17 at the half, the match was all but over already.
