Kaitlyn Cabral was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Erin Seder, who went 3-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and one double.
Marlborough was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .452. They are 4-2 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Framingham beat Westborough 10-5 on Friday. With that victory, the Flyers brought their scoring average up to 6.4 runs per game.
Kayla Goodridge was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out ten batters over seven innings while giving up five earned runs off six hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Chloe Nestor, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season. Savanna Barrett was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two runs and two RBI.
Marlborough has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-6 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.7 runs over those games. As for Framingham, their victory bumped their record up to 3-6.
Thursday's match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Marlborough hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .368. However, it's not like Framingham struggles in that department as they've averaged .418. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
