The Chadwick Dolphins will face off against the Westridge Tigers at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Westridge took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Chadwick, who comes in off a win.
Chadwick will bounce into Thursday's matchup after beating Flintridge Prep, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. Chadwick blew past Flintridge Prep 13-3 on Wednesday. The Dolphins' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Sammy Santa Ana made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out 16 over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, scoring three runs while going 3-for-5.
In other batting news, Chadwick let Dami Ogundimu and Sophie Stanley run wild. Ogundimu scored four runs while going 4-for-5, while Stanley went 2-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Mia Cabrera, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI.
Chadwick kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Westridge came up short against Rio Hondo Prep on Wednesday, falling 16-3. The Tigers haven't had much luck with the Kares recently, as the team has come up short the last eight times they've met.
Marysa Ybarra made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3. That stolen base was her first of the season.
Westridge's defeat dropped their record down to 3-2-1. As for Chadwick, their victory ended an eight-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-2.
Thursday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Chadwick has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .442. However, it's not like Westridge struggles in that department as they've averaged .485. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Chadwick might still be hurting after the 15-0 loss they got from Westridge in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can Chadwick avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
