The Lyons Lions will head out on the road to face off against the Forge Christian Fury at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Lyons is headed out to face Forge Christian after opening their season at home and giving their fans just what they were looking for. Lyons put the hurt on Liberty Common with a sharp 9-1 win on March 6th.
Zack LaCrosse and Jake LaCrosse made a big impact no matter where they played. On the mound, LaCrosse struck out six batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits (and not a single walk). Meanwhile, Jake pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. At the plate, LaCrosse scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3, while Jake scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. That's the most stolen bases Jake has posted since back in May of 2024.
In other batting news, Wyatt Fitzgerald was excellent, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. Those two hits gave him a new career-high. Calvin Russell was another key player, going 1-for-4 with three RBI and one double.
Meanwhile, Forge Christian got themselves on the board against Moon Valley on Friday, but Moon Valley never followed suit. They blew past the Rockets 11-0. The Fury haven't had any issues with the Rockets recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.
Like Lyons, Forge Christian also got a great game from a two-way player: Ben McLean. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out eight over five innings pitched. Furthermore, McLean didn't allow a single earned run, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in April of 2024. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Easton Wilde, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Burke Jasa, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-4.
