B District 1 (8 Man) recap Oct. 23, 2012
Pond Creek-Hunter extended the longest winning streak in B District 1 (8 Man) this week by beating Seiling, 47-6. The win marks eighth in a row for the the Panthers.
Garber led the league in scoring this week after putting up 68 points on Covington-Douglas.
The Wildcats' dynamic duo of Quenten Thayer and Jonah Bigbey proved tough for the Wolverines to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Thayer threw for 212 yards and three touchdowns and Bigbey had 77 yards receiving. Gage Smith helped Covington-Douglas' passing attack out by catching three balls for 53 yards.
Brady Krittenbrink was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 272 yards on 15 carries as Pond Creek-Hunter lost to Garber. Trenton Grimes also contributed to the rushing game with 96 yards on the ground.
The Wildcats' Thayer and Dylan Daugherty have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading B District 1 (8 Man) in both passing and receiving yards. Thayer has thrown for 888 yards this season, while Daugherty, a 5-foot-11 receiver, has 15 catches for 340 yards. Krittenbrink from David Kerr's team leads the league in rushing with 1448 yards.
The marquee game in the league this week will be the clash between Merritt and Covington-Douglas. The Oilers enters the game ranked 15th in the state, while the Wildcats ranks 11th.
