Vela won the last time they faced Weslaco and things went their way on Saturday too. The Sabercats came out on top against the Panthers by a score of 2-0.

Abryella Ysquierdo paced Vela's offense, picking up six kills. Ysquierdo got some help from Lauren Hanson and her 22 assists. Savanah Rivera controlled things from the service line, finishing with seven aces.

Vela has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season. As for Weslaco, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 14-12.

Vela wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Memorial on the 2nd. As for Weslaco, they have also already played their next match, a 3-1 loss against Los Fresnos on the 2nd.
