The Kermit Yellow Jackets and the Fort Stockton Panthers will round out the year against one another at 8:00 a.m. on Thursday at. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
After a string of three wins, Kermit's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They lost to Stanton on the road by a decisive 53-37 margin. Kermit has not had much luck with Stanton recently, as the team's come up short the last eight times they've met.
Despite their loss, Kermit saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Ebbin Mallory, who scored seven points along with six rebounds and five steals, was perhaps the best of all. Iris Lujan was another key contributor, scoring six points along with three steals.
Meanwhile, Fort Stockton came up short against Del Rio on Tuesday and fell 37-26.
Kermit's loss dropped their record down to 9-8. As for Fort Stockton, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-5.
Kermit couldn't quite finish off Fort Stockton when the teams last played back in November and fell 49-47. Can Kermit avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
