Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only the Taft Eagles walked away with it. They blew past the Jaguars 54-16 at home on Monday. Taft has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten games by 21 points or more this season.
Grace Brumley was her usual excellent self, scoring 19 points along with three steals. She hasn't dropped below two steals for five straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Mercedes Morales, who scored ten points along with five rebounds.
Taft has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 contests, which provided a massive bump to their 16-11 record this season. As for King, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-5.
Taft will stay at home for another game and welcome the Wolverines at 5:00 p.m. on January 31st. Simeon is no doubt hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. As for King, they will head out on the road to face off against the Colonels at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
