Basketball Recap: Jayden Buckhannon Key Part of a Team Effort in Generals Win

On Saturday, the Abbeville Christian Academy Generals strolled past the Terrell Academy Eagles with points to spare, taking the game 46-32. The 46-point effort marked the Generals' lowest-scoring matchup of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Abbeville Christian Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jayden Buckhannon, who went 9 of 15 en route to 22 points along with five boards and four steals. The contest was Buckhannon's sixth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Riddge Crawford, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten boards.

The win made it two in a row for Abbeville Christian Academy and bumps their season record up to 7-4. As for Terrell Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Abbeville Christian Academy will take on Evangel Christian Academy in a tournament on Monday. Evangel Christian Academy will roll in looking for their ninth straight victory, something Abbeville Christian Academy surely won't give up without a fight. As for Terrell Academy, they will face off against Southwest Georgia Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (Terrell Academy has won five straight at home dating back to last season, while Southwest Georgia Academy won three straight on the road), something that'll have to change.
