While Bourgeois didn't have the best season last year (they finished 13-16), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They blew past the Covenant Christian Academy Lions 13-7 on Thursday. The Braves might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three matchups by six runs or more this season.

On the hitting side, Bourgeois let Rylee Lachico and Serenity Carroll run wild. Lachico scored three runs while going 2-for-4, while Carroll went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. What's more, Lachico posted two doubles, the most she's had since back in March of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Macy Theriot, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4.
Bourgeois' win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-1. As for Covenant Christian Academy, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-5.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bourgeois will head out to take on Central Lafourche at 5:00 p.m. on March 6th. Central Lafourche will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Bourgeois surely won't give up without a fight. As for Covenant Christian Academy, they will venture away from home to face off against Thomas Jefferson at 5:00 p.m. on March 6th. Covenant Christian Academy has given up an average of 9.3 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.
