Despite the loss, Veritas Christian still got an impressive performance from Gavin Oberzan, who scored 14 points along with eight rebounds and six blocks. Oberzan is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last five games he's played.
Manhattan HomeSchool CHIEF now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Veritas Christian, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost eight of their last ten matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season.
Manhattan HomeSchool CHIEF will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on St. Mary's Academy at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Veritas Christian, they will head out on the road to face off against Eudora at 8:00 p.m. on Monday. Eudora presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Veritas Christian in Kansas (Eudora is ranked 127th, while Veritas Christian is ranked 302nd).
