On Saturday, Lansing Catholic came up short against Mott and fell 63-53. While losing is never fun, Lansing Catholic can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 384th, while Mott is ranked 152nd).
Despite the loss, Lansing Catholic still got an impressive performance from Lucas Payne, who scored 20 points along with three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Payne has scored all season. Dj Rowley was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with five rebounds.
This is the second loss in a row for Lansing Catholic and nudges their season record down to 1-5. As for Mott, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-3.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lansing Catholic will take on Eaton Rapids at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Eaton Rapids will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak. As for Mott, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Notre Dame Prep at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Notre Dame Prep knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past eight matchups -- so hopefully Mott likes a good challenge.
