The Loraine Bulldogs had to endure a eight-game losing streak dating back to last season, but that streak is no more. They strolled past Blackwell with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 71-52. Yes, you read that score correctly, and yes, they were playing football.
Loraine can attribute much of their success to AJ Williams, who threw for 55 yards and a touchdown.
Loraine's win bumped their record up to 1-7. As for Blackwell, they now have a losing record at 3-4.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Loraine will take on Trent at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Trent will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 258th, while Loraine is ranked 85th). As for Blackwell, they will head out on the road to face off against Bronte at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
