Baseball Recap: Belmont Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Belmont had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Wednesday. They put the hurt on the Meadowdale Lions with a sharp 21-5 victory. The result was nothing new for the Bison, who have now won four contests by 15 runs or more so far this season.

Gavin Bradley made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He struck out ten batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off five hits. Bradley was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his six plate appearances with seven stolen bases, four runs, and two RBI.

In other batting news, Carter Blankenship was a standout: he went 3-for-6 with six stolen bases and three runs. Mike Meza was another key player, getting on base in all five of his plate appearances with four stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.

Belmont's win bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Meadowdale, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Belmont will square off against Northwest at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Meadowdale, they will take on Ponitz Career Tech at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
