The West Noble Chargers's nine-game losing streak came to an end on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Churubusco and snuck past 34-31. The win was just what West Noble needed coming off of a 61-32 defeat in their prior match.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead West Noble to victory, but perhaps none more so than Alayna C delong, who scored 14 points along with six rebounds and two blocks. Another player making a difference was Alexia Mast, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds and five steals.
Despite the loss, Churubusco still got an impressive performance from Brooklyn Sinclair, who scored 21 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Sinclair has scored all season. Alyssa Eby was another key contributor, scoring four points along with seven rebounds.
Churubusco struggled to work together and finished the game with only two assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as West Noble posted nine assists.
West Noble's victory bumped their record up to 2-16. As for Churubusco, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost eight of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-14 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. West Noble will challenge Eastside at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Eastside will be looking to keep their nine-game home win streak alive. Churubusco on the road again on Tuesday and play against Lakeland at 7:00 p.m. on January 16th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Indiana (Lakeland is ranked 322nd, while Churubusco is ranked 307th).
