West Yosemite recap November 5, 2013
El Diamante extended the longest winning streak in West Yosemite this week by beating Lemoore, 27-21. The victory was the fifth in a row for the Miners.
El Diamante and the Tigers played the most contested game in the league this week, with El Diamante eventually emerging with a 27-21 victory. JC Robles threw for 195 yards and 3 touchdowns and ran for 37 yards during the win.
He was 10-14 with 1 interception.
Robles put up the best numbers in passing as Mark Rogers' team beat Lemoore. Robles' favorite target this week was Mitchell Boswell, who caught 2 passes for 60 yards.
6-foot-1 quarterback Jake Young of Hanford is the league leader in passing yards this season with 2,113. He has also thrown 14 touchdowns. The leading receiver in the league this season is Rickie Garcia. The Redwood star has 37 catches for 729 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Golden West takes on the Miners. At the moment, the Trailblazers are in sixth, while El Diamante is in first.
Redwood took down Hanford West 48-12 last week, the largest margin of any game. Adam Vance threw for 136 yards and 2 touchdowns in the win.
