Baseball Recap: Abbeville Christian Academy Comes Up Short

After flying high against Sparta Academy on Saturday, Abbeville Christian Academy came back down to earth. The Abbeville Christian Academy Generals fell just short of the Fort Dale Academy Eagles by a score of 7-5 on Saturday. The defeat continues a trend for the Generals in their meetings with the Eagles: they've now lost three in a row.

Jaiden Buckhannon made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Abbeville Christian Academy is 3-1 when Buckhannon posts two or more runs, but 2-5 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Monty Masters, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Even though they lost, Abbeville Christian Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .381. This was only their first loss (out of three games) when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Abbeville Christian Academy now has a losing record of 5-6. As for Fort Dale Academy, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 6-0.

Coming up, Abbeville Christian Academy will challenge Edgewood Academy at 6:00 p.m. on March 11th. As for Fort Dale Academy, they have already played their next game, an 11-1 win against Sparta Academy on the 3rd.
