The Hickory Hornets will head out to challenge the Mohawk Area Warriors at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Hickory is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They put the hurt on Oil City with a sharp 11-4 victory on Monday. The game snapped a strange streak: the last four times these teams have met, it?s been the away team that?s taken home the W.

The team relied heavily on Jack White, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Dante Evans, who went 3-for-4 with three runs and one stolen base.
Hickory was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .393. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Mohawk Area made easy work of Ambridge on Monday and carried off an 8-1 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Warriors.
Bobby Fadden made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two hits in seven consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Mohawk Area is 4-2 when Fadden posts two or more runs, but 5-6 otherwise.
In other pitching news, Briar Crawford tossed a big game, striking out seven batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits (and only one walk). He has become a key player for Mohawk Area: the team is 3-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 6-7 otherwise.
Back at the plate, Vinny Pezzuolo was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two triples, three runs, and four RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Mohawk Area's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 4-2 (and 5-6 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Drew Wrona, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one RBI.
The victory snapped Hickory's losing streak at five games and leaves them with a 5-9 record. As for Mohawk Area, they now have a winning record of 9-8.
