The Cedar Creek Christian Saints will venture away from home to take on the Harvest Community Warriors at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Cedar Creek Christian has struggled recently with nine defeats in a row, while Harvest Community will arrive with six straight wins.
Cedar Creek Christian fell victim to Christ's Church Academy and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They came up short against the Eagles, falling 18-0.
Meanwhile, Harvest Community hadn't done well against Eagle's View recently (they were 1-7 in their previous eight matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. Harvest Community put the hurt on Eagle's View with a sharp 18-5 victory. The result was nothing new for Harvest Community, who have now won five contests by ten runs or more so far this season.
Rebekah Harmer and Naomi Winburn made a splash no matter where they played. On the mound, Harmer struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off only two hits. Meanwhile, Winburn tossed two innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two hits in six consecutive appearances. At bat, Harmer scored three runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3, while Winburn scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4. What's more, Harmer posted two RBI, the most she's had since back in April of 2024.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Marley Elliott, who went 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one double. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in hits. The team also got some help courtesy of Cassidy McCartney, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2.
Harvest Community pushed their record up to 7-1 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.5 runs over those games. As for Cedar Creek Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 0-3.
Cedar Creek Christian suffered a grim 15-0 defeat to Harvest Community when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can Cedar Creek Christian avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
