The Acadiana Christian Lions and the Bishop Noland Episcopal Day Eagles squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but sadly the Acadiana Christian Lions had to settle for second. They were the victim of a rough 47-24 defeat at the hands of the Eagles. Acadiana Christian has not had much luck with the Eagles recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Ty Olivier and Layne Hebert certainly did their best on Thursday to avoid the loss. Olivier scored 11 points along with six rebounds and three steals, while Hebert scored three points. That was a full 45.8% of Acadiana Christian's points, marking the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Even though they lost, Acadiana Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bishop Noland Episcopal Day only pulled down seven offensive rebounds.
It was another big night for Charlie Kuehn, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 12 rebounds for Bishop Noland Episcopal Day. Kuehn is on a roll when it comes to blocks, as he's now posted two or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Roy Washington, who scored eight points along with three steals.
Acadiana Christian has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 15-10 record this season. As for Bishop Noland Episcopal Day, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 15-3.
Acadiana Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Bishop Noland Episcopal Day will face off against the at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Faith Training Christian Academy is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
