Harding hasn't had much luck against Boardman recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Raiders will host the Spartans at 5:00 p.m.
Harding is headed into Wednesday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Monday. They lost 10-4 to Badger.
Karly Trisler spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and nine unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up six Ks. Those hits were her first of the season.
On the hitting side, Azarriah Phillips made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole two bases while going 4-for-4.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Boardman). They were the clear victors by a 12-3 margin over Howland on Monday. The win was nothing new for the Spartans as they're now sitting on four straight.
Tori Strines made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching four innings while giving up three earned runs off four hits. Strines was also stellar in the batter's box, firing off two home runs and five RBI while going 2-for-4. Those two home runs gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Addie Rudge, who fired off three home runs and four RBI while going 3-for-3. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in runs (three). Another player making a difference was Mikayla Rivera, who went 2-for-4 with one home run.
Boardman kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in three consecutive contests.
Boardman's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-2. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Harding, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-6.
Harding might still be hurting after the 11-1 loss they got from Boardman in their previous matchup two weeks ago. Will the Raiders have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other softball content.
