It was a good run, but the St. Charles East Fighting Saints unfortunately witnessed the end of their nine-game winning streak on Friday. They fell to St. Charles North 44-38. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points St. Charles East has scored all season.
Several Fighting Saints players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Lexi DiOrio, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds.
St. Charles East's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-2. As for St. Charles North, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-1.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. St. Charles East won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Neuqua Valley at 2:30 p.m. on December 16th. Neuqua Valley will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings (they are ranked 118th, while St. Charles East is ranked 15th). St. Charles North's road trip will continue as they head out to face Glenbard North at 7:15 p.m. on December 22nd.
