Metairie Park Country Day waltzed into their game on Tuesday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They beat the Independence Tigers by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 73-40. The Cajuns have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 contests by 21 points or more this season.

Independence lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Haymann Milton, who posted 20 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kordell Hines, who scored 11 points.

Metairie Park Country Day pushed their record up to 25-8 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.2 points over those games. As for Independence, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 19-19 record this season.

Metairie Park Country Day will take on Catholic - N.I. on Friday. One thing working in Catholic - N.I.'s favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four games. Independence does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
