The Stafford Trojans's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their ninth straight loss. They were dealt a 58-31 loss at the hands of Norwich. While losing is never fun, Stafford can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 347th, while Norwich is ranked 91st).
Despite the loss, Stafford had strong showings from Taylor Denio, who scored 15 points along with eight rebounds and two steals, and Ines Garcia, who scored eight points along with six rebounds.
Stafford's defeat was their 16th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-13. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 21.8 points per game. As for Norwich, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 14-1.
Stafford will be playing at home against Burrton at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Norwich, they will head out on the road to challenge Attica at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Norwich has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last five games.
