Forge Christian has won 16 straight games at home (dating back to last season), while Colorado Academy has won 16 straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Tuesday. The Fury will welcome the Mustangs at 3:00 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Forge Christian 1.8, Colorado Academy 3.1) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Forge Christian hadn't beaten Eaton on the road since June 1, 2018 but that history sure didn't bother them on Saturday. The Fury walked away with a 6-1 win over the Reds.
Burke Jasa spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on five hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Ben McLean was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. That home run was his first of the season. Easton Wilde was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three runs.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Forge Christian kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in three consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Colorado Academy had just enough and edged out Basalt 7-6 on Monday. The Mustangs haven't had any issues with the Longhorns recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.
Liam Driver was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. What's more, he posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Riley Summers, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and three runs. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Ben Bridich, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.
Forge Christian's win bumped their record up to 14-2. As for Colorado Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 14-1.
Tuesday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Forge Christian has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .438. However, it's not like Colorado Academy struggles in that department as they've averaged .451. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Forge Christian came out on top in a nail-biter against Colorado Academy in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, sneaking past 2-1. Do the Fury have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Mustangs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
