Elyse VanderWeide was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-4. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in doubles (two). Riley Cooper was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.
Hesperia Christian was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .412. They are 5-1-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Arrowhead Christian had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They blew past the Titans 10-4. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.
Gaby Rios spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on six hits and racked up seven Ks.
At the plate, Arrowhead Christian got a big performance out of Gianna Dogero, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-4. Those stolen bases were Dogero's first of the season. Another player making a difference was Leila Mouri, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double.
Hesperia Christian now has a winning record of 7-6-1. As for Arrowhead Christian, their win bumped their record up to 9-5.
