Basketball Recap: Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Memorial's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Thursday

It was a good run, but Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Memorial unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell just short of the Valley View Tigers by a score of 57-55. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wolverines this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 58-57 two weeks ago.

Despite the loss, Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Memorial still got an impressive performance from Andrew Anzaldua, who posted 24 points along with six rebounds and five steals. The matchup was Anzaldua's sixth in a row with at least ten points. Ricardo Alvarado was another key player, putting up two points and nine rebounds.

Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Memorial's loss dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Valley View, their win bumped their record up to 2-4.

Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Memorial wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 49-40 defeat against Economedes on the 6th. As for Valley View, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 63-40 loss against Mission on the 6th.
