Basketball Recap: Make It Six in a Row for DSST: College View

DSST: College View had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 20.4 points) and they went ahead and made it six on Thursday. They came out on top against the Bruce Randolph Grizzlies by a score of 56-43. Given the Wolves' advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 131st, while the Grizzlies are ranked 272nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

DSST: College View's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Joshua Sosa, who went 9 for 10 en route to 19 points in addition to eight boards and five steals. The contest was Sosa's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Isaias Tomita was another key player, dropping a triple-double on 14 points, ten assists, and ten steals.

DSST: College View is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-3 record this season. As for Bruce Randolph, they have also traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-11 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. DSST: College View won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Robert F. Smith STEAM Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Bruce Randolph, they will also get right back to it: they'll challenge Manual at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
