Baseball Recap: Triton Central Has No Trouble Against Speedway

Triton Central got themselves on the board against Speedway on Wednesday, but Speedway never followed suit. They put the hurt on the Sparkplugs with a sharp 11-0 victory. Considering the Tigers have won four matches by more than nine runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Brayden Hoover, who scored a run while going 1-for-3. What's more, he posted three RBI, the most he's had since back in May of 2024.

The win made it two in a row for Triton Central and bumps their season record up to 4-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 1 runs in those games. As for Speedway, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-5-1.

Coming up, Triton Central will look to defend their home field on Saturday against Eastern Hancock at 10:00 a.m. As for Speedway, they will head out on the road to face off against Shelbyville at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The Sparkplugs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Golden Bears have averaged an impressive 6.6 runs per game this season.
