Marquette Catholic is a perfect 10-0 against Althoff Catholic since April of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Explorers fell just short of Granite City by a score of 14-12 on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Explorers have suffered since March 21, 2025.

Jayla Dickson was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. She has been hot, having also posted at least one stolen base the last five times she's played. Another player making a difference was Allie Weiner, who went 3-for-5 with three RBI and one triple.
Althoff Catholic came out on top against Maryville Christian on Friday thanks in part to the team's impressive eight-run fifth inning. The Crusaders blew past the Lions 14-3. The Crusaders not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since April 23, 2025 (when they won 25-1).
Maddy Campo made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out six over five innings pitched. Campo was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in two of her four plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. That stolen base was her first of the season.
In other batting news, Althoff Catholic got a big performance out of Karson Spencer, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs, one double, and one RBI. That's the most runs Spencer has posted since back in March of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Kennedy Robinson, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
Althoff Catholic always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .615. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Althoff Catholic's win bumped their record up to 2-8. As for Marquette Catholic, their loss dropped their record down to 5-8-1.
Althoff Catholic's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Marquette Catholic hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .362. It's a different story for Althoff Catholic, though, as they've only averaged .256. Will they be able to contain Marquette Catholic's hitters?
