Basketball Recap: Clear Falls Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Gabrielle Shepherd and Kyndall King

After flying high against MacArthur last Friday, Clear Falls came back down to earth. The Clear Falls Knights fell just short of the Friendswood Mustangs by a score of 48-46 on Monday. While losing is never fun, the Knights can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 579th, while the Mustangs are ranked 265th).

Clear Falls' loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Kyndall King, who posted 19 points along with seven rebounds and three steals, and Gabrielle Shepherd, who went 5 of 9 en route to 14 points and seven boards. The match was King's eighth in a row with at least ten points.

Clear Falls' defeat dropped their record down to 8-13. As for Friendswood, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 16-9.

Clear Falls will head out to face off against Clear Brook at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. Clear Brook will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Clear Falls surely won't give up without a fight. As for Friendswood, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 46-31 victory against Clear Lake on the 31st.
