The Somerville Highlanders will head out on the road to take on the Revere Patriots at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Somerville is coming into the contest on a six-game losing streak.
Somerville pushed their score all the way to 58 on Thursday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 69-58 hit to the loss column at the hands of Lynn Classical.
Meanwhile, Revere took a serious blow against Lynn English on Tuesday, falling 77-45. While losing is never fun, Revere can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Massachusetts basketball rankings (they are ranked 267th, while Lynn English is ranked 53rd).
Somerville's loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-10. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.5 points per game. As for Revere, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost six of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season.
Somerville strolled past Revere in their previous meeting back in January by a score of 41-27. The rematch might be a little tougher for Somerville since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
