Basha has won seven straight games at home, while Desert Vista has won seven straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Thursday. The Bears will welcome the Thunder at 3:45 p.m. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.
While Basha's victory against Chandler wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Bears had just enough and edged out the Wolves 3-2. The Bears haven't had any issues with the Wolves recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive win against them.
Basha got a great performance from Brie Fynan as she pitched six innings while giving up just two earned runs off nine hits. Fynan has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Basha let Makaila Quinney and Vaeh Luna run wild. Quinney went 1-for-3 with one home run, while Luna went 1-for-3 with one home run. Quinney has been hot recently, having posted at least one home run the last four times she's played. Grace McNulty was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base.
Basha lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now launched at least two home runs in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Desert Vista faced O'Connor in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Wednesday. The Thunder won by a run and slipped past the Eagles 6-5. That's two games straight that the Thunder have won by just one run.
The team relied heavily on Mckenzie Leitgen, who went 2-for-3 with one home run.
Desert Vista's victory bumped their record up to 23-5. As for Basha, their win bumped their record up to 21-5.
Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. Basha has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.5 hits per game. However, it's not like Desert Vista struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 4.1 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Basha suffered a grim 14-3 defeat to Desert Vista in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Will the Bears have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more softball content.
